Line protection industrial system SIL
• Line protection. Instantaneous and reverse phase and neutral.
• Internal backup batteries, to operate in the case of an auxiliary power supply failure.
• SMS communication for maintenance staff.
• Multifunction digital and/or analogue inputs and programmable outputs which permit great versatility.
Applications
The SIL unit is specifically designed to protect medium voltage lines in the following applications:
• Transformation centre and basic line for solid neutral.
• Basic line for isolated neutral.
• Non integrated line with SCADA for solid neutral.
• Non integrated line with SCADA for isolated neutral.
• Integrated line with SCADA for solid neutral.
• Integrated line with SCADA for isolated neutral.
Protection
The protection functions of the SIL unit are those of the line itself, one instantaneous time phase and neutral current, both with 2 levels, and one inverse time phase and inverse time neutral with selectable inverse, very inverse and extremely inverse time curves, according to the IEC standard.
It is also fitted with a PT 100 input to measure the machine temperature.
SIL
Communication
The SIL unit has front communication so that the status of the unit can be consulted and its operating
parameters can be changed via the SIcom
communication software.
According to the model, it has a rear port for remote
communications with protocol ModBus-RTU,
specifically intended for the integration of the unit in SCADA systems. According to the model, it also has
the possibility of SMS communication, on a list of
preset telephones for the maintenance staff when it
is not connected to a SCADA.

Control and Measuring
The SIL unit is fitted with a powerful input and output configuration mechanism via programmable logic.
It has 5 outputs: 3 NA and 2 NC which can be
configured individually.
It has 4 inputs which can be used as analogue or
digital. These inputs are galvanically isolated from
the CPU to eliminate EMC problems.
It is fitted with the following measures: Phase and neutral currents, voltages and power (according to the model), temperature of the machine and analogue inputs.
Supply
The SIL unit has 8 NiMH Technology AA size batteries providing the required power should there
be a loss of auxiliary power. As well as feeding the unit, it provides the voltage for the breaker trip, the inputs power and, according to the models, the power for the external modem for SMS messages.
