Thermal Energy Method deburring — TEMTEM — Thermal Energy Method deburring — removes burrs and ash from all part surfaces regardless of location, even in blind holes or intersecting passages. A pressurized mixture of combustible gas and oxygen completely envel- ops the part and is ignited. The burr’s high ratio of surface area to mass allows the temperature to quickly rise above the auto-ignition point and the burr will vaporize into an oxide. The oxidation is of short duration, just long enough to transform burrs and ash into oxide powder, but not long enough to signicantly change the part dimensionally or metalurgically. TEM is an ideal process for extremely high volume production nishing. Dozens or even hundreds of parts can be processed in a single cycle.Tube cut-os, screw machine parts, ttings, and die castings, particularly those with hard-to-reach areas, are practical applications for the TEM process. TEM can be applied to a wide range of materials including zinc, aluminum, brass, steel, iron, and stainless steel. Deburring of automotive fuel injector bodies and transmission hubs to stainless steel ttings and seats are applications where extremely high production volumes must be met consis- tently and dependably to satisfy the demands of just-in- time schedules set by major OEM’s.“ We had major problems removing burrs from recesses and undercuts within our fluid control bodies. The TEM process removes every burr, internal or external, in one quick operation.”for more information about Extrude Hone’s unique nishing equipment and contract shop services… Extrude Hone Corporation1 Industry Boulevard • P O Box 1000 • Irwin, PA 15642 800-367-1109 • 724-863-5900 • Fax 724-863-8759www.extrudehone.com |
