Monitoring Performance From the Customer Perspective Timing Accuracy for Real-Time Services The Brix 100M Verifier is a purpose-built, service assurance appliance specificallydesigned to be deployed as customer premise equipment. With its unique deployment position at end-user locations, the Brix 100M serves as an IP services demarc point, clearly delineating both enterprise and service provider networks and responsibilities. Makes End-to-End Service Testing Possible Similar to the in-network Brix 1000 and Brix 2500 Verifiers, the Brix 100M also featuresexceptionally accurate timing capability to support the sub-millisecond precision required for today’s performance-sensitive services. All time measurements take advantage of the Brix 100M Verifier's hardware packet timestamp engine, eliminating the variations caused by user or kernel-level, software-based timing schemes. With the Brix 100M Verifier, network administrators can now gather the most elusive, yet important, performance measurements—those that represent their end-users’ or customers’ experiences. The Brix 100M gives administrators the total network visibility they need, beyond the data center and the network edge, to demystify site-to-site performance—for call quality between branch offices on separate continents, business application response time from a regional data center, or throughput across the access network. The Brix end-to-end service testing approach calls for the deployment of the CPEBrix 100M (or software Brix Verifier Agents) in conjunction with in-network Brix 1000 and Brix 2500 Verifiers and Brix 3500T Verifiers on the PSTN.
