ERNI complete: design, construction,
pressfit, soldering and testing technology
ERNI’s Systems Technology division bundles our
expertise in the design, construction and manufacture
of bus circuit boards, assemblies and integrated
systems. What we offer our customers ranges from
project-specific design and development partnership
through the serial production of customized backplanes
and electronic assemblies. The automatic
assembly process (up to 30,000 components every
hour) and subsequent pressfit or soldering processes
demand an equally high standard in the final inspection.
Every backplane is subjected to a fully automated
optical inspection (AOI) and electrical test; with
high contact densities or large formats this means
more than 100,000 test points. We develop specially
tailored connection, insulation, impedance, function
or customized tests to suit each particular application
so that every backplane and every component
reaches the customer with guaranteed functionality.
ERNI cable assembly made to measure
Instead of having cables assembled manually somewhere
else in the world (with all the imponderables
associated with transport, costs, scheduling and
quality), we offer an ERNI-compatible solution. Our
fully and semi-automated equipment enables us to
fit complete cables with ERNI connectors and other
components. Cutting to length, straightening, stripping,
crimping, soldering, printing, inspecting - every
single strand is cut to length and given an unambiguous
identification code. A high level of automation
makes this quick, precise, flexible and low cost.
