® field buscomponents ERbic Profibus ERbic CAN bus ERbic SafetyBus For different ERbic bus sys-
tems, the interface connectors
combine compact dimensions
with horizontal or vertical cable
termination.The color coding
describes different bus sys-
tems, nodes, and terminationversionswith integrated termi-nation resistors.
The integrated switch of ERbicswitch versions allows for theflexible configuration of
Profibus systems. The switchswitches the termination onand off, and can be externally
operated. The MAX housing is
made from die-cast metal andis ideal for use in rough envi-ronmental conditions, and for
meeting EMC requirements. The MAX housing is alsoequipped with an axial cable
output in the connecting direction, and therefore, has aslimline shape. >

9 1Mbit/s Profibus is the most widelyused field bus. The IP 20 inter-
face on the device side is stan-
dardized as a 9-pin D-Sub fe-male connector. The maximumdata transmission rate is 12
Mbits/sec. The cable is ashielded, twisted-pair conduc-tor. The
cable sheath is violet,
and the signal cores are green(A) and red (B). With its com-prehensive program, ERNI
provides customers with a
wide variety of options. Profibus versions can be ob-tained with an external switch,an IDC terminal, a cage clampterminal, and a screw terminal.
Also available are ProfibusNodes, and a Profibus termi-nation with screw terminal and optional programming interface. The CAN bus, originally deve-loped for automobile engine
management, is distinguished
by its stringent high reliability.Data rates reach 1 Mbit/s. The9-pin D-Sub connector is the
interface to the device. In somecases, a version with a shielddecoupling
capacitor is avail-
able as an option (cable shieldhousing D-Sub). CAN bus versions can be ob-tained with an external switch,a cage clamp terminal, or a
screw terminal. Also available
are CAN bus Nodes, and aCAN bus termination withscrew terminal and optional
programming interface. The SafetyBus p utilizes the
advantages of the CAN bus. A protocol has been developed
by Pilz that satisfies safety engineering requirements. A larger cable cross section of
0.75 mm is specified to coverlonger distances. Only the 3lines required for the bus are
connected in the connector(HLG, H = high, L = low, G = ground).The ERbic SafetyBus p is avail-able with a screw terminal con-
nection. >
