I/O Connectors

Single-port modular jacks Multi-port modular jacks, ganged. MJR Series Multi-port modular jacks, stacked. MJD Series
I/O Connectors Cat 3/4, 5IEC 60603-7Solder, SMT 6, 8 Cat 3/4, 5, 5eIEC 60603-7Solder 2, 4, 6, 8 Cat 5, 5eIEC 60603-7Solder 8 ERNI's single-port modularjack series provide effective solutions for RJ11 and RJ45 applications. The right angleconnectors are available withsurface mount and solder post terminations. Various designsfeature different tab orientation, shielding and LED options. Low profile versions (11.75 mm)are available for applicationswhere limited height is required. The MJR Series provides a costeffective solution for RJ11 and RJ45 applications. In addition to single-port jacks, this seriescomprises right-angled multi-port versions of 1x2, 1x4, 1x6, 1x8 and 1x12 configurations.MJR RJ11 housings have 6contact positions which can be loaded with 2, 4 or 6 pins. MJRRJ45 ports have 8 contact positions for mating to EIA568 compliant cables. Integrated panel stops are also availableto securely locate the modularjack in its panel opening. Shielded modular jacks areavailable with panel flanges on top and on both sides for effective grounding. The stacked modular jackshave 2 rows of ports with opposed tab orientation, pro- viding easy access for insertingand removing plugs in crowdedsystems. Stacking the ports improves space utilizationalong the PCB edge, doublingthe number of ports per inch. Integrated shields with panelflanges on top and on bothsides provide effective ground- ing. Stacked jacks are avail- able in configurations of 2x1,2x2, 2x3, 2x4, 2x6 and 2x8ports. They meet Category 5 and Category 5e requirements. Modular jack connectors, a cor-nerstone of communicationstechnology, have been used inthe telecommunications and ethernet industry for manyyears. The main reasons forthis are the simplicity and reliability of these products.Whether integrated in a simpletelephone system, or in a gigabit application, modular jacks represent the standardfor network connections. They can be obtained in many different versions. Increasingdata rates and space-savingrequirements are driving increasing requests for con-nectors with integrated filtercomponents.
