carrying I/O signals and some
power. The connector is keyedand four different key combina-tions are possible. All combina-
tions support Hot Swap func-tions. The eHM connector (ER-met B08) with coding for reli-
able mating is available as a56pin male connector (40 sig-nal contacts and 16 additional
shield blades) as well as 40pin
female connector. ERNI has upgraded its hardmetric Universal power Module
(UPM) to include new 5-, 6- and
7-pin versions. These UPMsaugment the existing 3-pinpower modules and match
their current carrying capacityof 18 A per contact (at 20 °C).These high performance con-
nectors are designed to supplypower in applications in linewith industry standard PICMG
EXP.0 CompactPCI Express 5- and 7-pin versions). The angled male connectors aredesigned to supply power to
daughtercards in conjunctionwith 2 mm ERmet connectorsconforming to IEC 61076-4-101.
The corresponding vertical female connectors are used onbackplanes. To connect additional plug-incards or cable connectors on
the backside of the backplane,
ERNI offers shrouds for all verti-cal pin connectors. Clampingwafers ensure easy assembly
of the shroud onto the long terminal contacts. There is alsoa latch for the cable connector
available. Shrouds are availablein four different heights. Modules: A, B, C, AB, D, E, F,DE, B19, B22 The female connector can alsobe shielded from the terminal
side of the board for very de-
manding EMC requirements.The lower shield is secured viapressfit contacts.
