data lines. This interlock alsosaves space, as no lockinglatches are required. The inter-
lock is achieved by integrallymolded latches on the femaleconnector. These lock into the
recesses in the male multipointconnector. Ribbon cables canbe processed in the 0.635 mm
grid. ERNI offers cable assemblieswith SMC female connectorsin various lengths for 12, 26,
50, 68 and 80 positions. ERNI
can build customer specificversions (such as halogen-freecables) upon request.The SMC Board-on connectorestablishes the connection between a ribbon cable andthe circuit board using only one connector. The connectoris assembled and soldered,automatically. After this, a ribbon cable is attached in grid0.635 mm. ERNI will supplythe corresponding devices as
