DESCRIPTION

The EFS 8341 system is designedfor temperature measurements in disturbed electric field environments. This system is based on an opticalmeasurement principle, but it is connected like any electrical sensor.

EFS 8341

DEVICE ADVANTAGES

. Galvanic measurement insulation. Optical measurement insensitive to electromagnetic disturbances . Remote measurement . Standard electrical connections . No risk of sparks in hazardous environments (sensor only) because of the technology employed.

MEASUREMENT PRINCIPLE

The temperature measurement uses an optical material that is temperature sensitive.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

This system allows the acquisition of up to 6 measurement points. It consists of the following elements : • 1 measurement sensor head with its optical fiber and its electrical connector (8341-1) or • 3 measurement sensor heads with their optical fibers and its electrical connector (8341-3-x-y-z) where x, y, z are the optical fiber lenghts.Model standard (photo) is 8341-3-4-5.
OPTICAL TEMPERATUREMEASUREMENT DEVICE BY FIBER • a data processing/ transfer box (8341-cond) .

USE

The measurement sensor heads are set on high voltage equipment whose temperature isto be measured. The optical fibers used mean that the maximum distance between the conditioning device and the sensors is 5 meters. The data processing box is attached to a DIN rail. It provides the conditioning connector power supply as well as converting electrical signals into temperatures. These temperatures are then transmitted to an external system via a MODBUS serial link or a 4/20mA analog output.
