Future success starts in the past
Open the catalog to page 1Thank you to our customers and colleagues In this era of highly technological modes of production and electronic systems, people are still the most important factor in a company's success. On the occasion of our 60th anniversary, we would like to thank those who have supported us throughout the years: our customers, whose trust and willingness to cooperate have continually driven us to higher performance and our colleagues, whose motivation and commitment are what have made our visions reality. Robert Ebner (Mag.) Peter H. Ebner (KommR Dipl.-Ing.)

Son Peter, born in 1938, soon followed in his father's footsteps - after completing his degree in metallurgy at the University of Leoben in 1961, he joined the family business as a commissioning engineer. Like his father, constant investigation into new and improved technology was of paramount importance: he set up an in-house R & D lab very quickly and earned an important patent for a bright annealing process for copper/zinc alloys in 1972. A feeling for business, a long-term plan and the ability to see connections between industries enabled him to lead...
Open the catalog to page 3Technical advances are most obvious in the high standards being demanded from furnace producers. The world's first roller-hearth furnace facility with a vacuum lock is built in this year, as well as the first annealing line for stainless steel strip. Three years after the end of the Second World War, Austria was occupied. Food was scarce, inflation and the black market were mundane realities, and being an entrepreneur and believing in the country's future enough to found a company required an extra helping of courage. The metal working industries began their slow road to recovery and Josef...

Ebner opens a service center for Japan and neighboring countries in Tokyo, also making a breakthrough in the production of aluminum plates by constructing the first horizontal hardening and tempering line. 1982/83 The first pusher-type furnace for aluminum ingots is built. The introduction of HICON/H 2® technology for the steel industry is a success, this year marking the commissioning of the first HICON/H 2® bell annealer facility for steel strip. 1970 The company's...

Open the catalog to page 7Vision becomes reality 1998 The technological highlight of 1998 is the construction of the first floater furnace for aluminum strip destined for the production of airplane components and car bodies. Once again, our experts prove their know-how and raise the bar even further. Thanks to EBNER's specially developed technology, the first vertical bright annealing line for brass and copper strip allows an Italian customer to omit the expensive and environmentally damaging pickling process. Our subsidiary in China opens its doors amid much celebration. The Taicang location, near Shanghai, has not...
Open the catalog to page 82005 He had a real feeling for technology, but more importantly he always knew just what had to be done. Our subsidiaries in the USA and China are good examples. He is always future-oriented, focusing on the essentials. Fair, caring, unassuming, strong and now in the course of his illness, a real fighter. I have admired his talent for rhetoric and persuasion from the very beginning, when I would accompany him on lecture tours. When dealing with the competition, he was always calm, fair, and several steps ahead. Companion My husband was asked to choose one of his companions to write about...
