N5 Series CylinderTypes

Spring Return/ExtendCylinders Spring return/extend cylindersprovide thrust in one directiononly (can be either direction). One port is used for pressureto act against the load whilethe inactive port is vented. An internal spring is used toreturn the cylinder to its nor-mal position. Electronic FeedbackCylinders Adjustable StrokeCylinders These cylinders integrateposition sensing and controlvalves to produce a complete servoactuator package.Eaton’s unique HLT In-Cylinder magnetostrictive feedback sensor provides acompact, robust package.External magnetostrictive (with protective covers) orinternally mounted linearpotentiometer transducersprovide additional options.Valve, manifold blocks and a variety of servocontrol valvesmay be added to yield a com-plete control solution. Adjustable stroke cylindersare furnished with a strokeadjusting screw in the cap end of the cylinder. Adjustingthis screw in or out limitsthe retract stroke to the pre- cise length desired. Non-rotating Cylinders Non-rotating cylinders arefurnished with internal guiderods which prevent piston rod rotation throughout thestroke. Rotational torque andstroke length determine the amount and diameter of theguide rods. Pumping Units Pumping units consist of astandard hydraulic cylindercoupled with a volume dis- placing lance cylinder via tie-bars. Special seals and lancesurface treatments are avail-able to provide compatibilitywith resins and chemicalsused in the pumpingprocess. Single and double ended designs are available.
