DEWE-xxx-FGEN ... Glitch free arbitrary signal generation
The DEWETRON FGEN instruments are full-featured glitch free function generators with up to 16 signal outputs.
Available modes are: Fixed frequency mode: All channels use the same frequency with 0.1 mHz resolution Sweep mode: Useful for testing electronic circuits like filters as well as automated modal analysis Burst mode: Testing response characteristics of systems under modal test Stepped sine mode: A special procedure for modal testing
There are numerous functions available for each mode, including frequency, operation mode, timing, control, and more. You can define each channel individually to any of the available types, including sine, triangular, rectangular, saw, white noise or trigger. The amplitude, offset and phase can also be defined for each channel.
Signal generation start/stop can be with half sine window, so the amplitude will not rise to full amplitude immediately, but within a certain time which ensures that the systems under test donīt suffer from impact shock. The same graceful
and gradual shutdown can also occur when you press STOP on the DEWETRON FGEN instrument. The start and stop of signal generation can be controlled manually or automatically.
Itīs not just the start and stop which are graceful, it is equal crucial that changes to the output during operation happen
without a single glitch in the signal, and over a predefined period of time. All generated channels are available as virtual channels within the software, so they can be used within MATH functions, trigger setups, and more.
Such a powerful and glitch free function generator is invaluable in laboratory testing of electronic circuits, power amplifiers, filters and so on. Also it provides a great base for calibration procedures. The sheer number of channels allows you to test delays and phase errors.
