Figure 1 The New! ForeSight™ Vision Inspection Station from Delkor Systems, Inc. visually scans containers for physical defects at rapid production speeds in excess of 500 containers per minute. The vision system identifies and removes defective packaging that would negatively affect product integrity or brand image: absent, misaligned or damaged closures and tipped, double-stacked, or wrong- sized containers. Opaque Foil Sealed Lid Inspection Method The ForeSight Station is designed for packaging line integration at a point upstream from a secondary packaging unit, such as the Delkor Spot-Pak® Flat Tray Packing System, so that it can inspect finished packages ready for distribution. Initial applications provide for the inspection of opaque foil lids and plastic overcap closures, including combinations of both types, which are most frequently used for yogurt and other dairy products. The patent pending ForeSight Station diverts packages from normal product flow onto a sidetrack conveyor, then visually inspects each package for compliance with a number of customer-defined parameters.
