2. GRAPHIC TERMINAL 2.1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The operator commands the numeric control, and therefore the machine, using the control panel, that includes: standard alphanumeric keyboard execution commands video screen WinTerm interface is the front-end software for machine control including manual movements, part-program execution and machine management. When WinTerm software is on top, the screen is parted in the following areas: 1) Title bar . Contains program name (WinTerm) and the version number of the software. Title bar may be absent when running the application in full-screen mode. 2) Tool bar . Contains icon-buttons for accessing general functionalities (visualization changes, on-line manuals, etc.). Toolbar buttons can be pressed with a mouse click or with SHIFT+Fn keys, as described in the icon picture. 3) View . This is the data and changes visualization area, depending on the context. For example, in this area are visualized: axes position, real-time graphic, tools table, etc. 4) Dialog lines . This area is used for machine-operator interaction. It is used to visualize PLC messages and errors and to command some activity of the CN, like described further. 5) Status line . Displays the Z32 status.
