6. STANDARD ALPHANUMERIC KEYBOARD
The keys on the alphanumeric keyboard can be grouped as follows: second function keys writing keys control keys and function keys Second function keys These are the keys CONTROL , SHIFT , ALT and if it is present ALTGR : they do not directly generate characters but they change the character set when they are pressed together with other keys. To obtain the required result from the second function keys: press it before pressing the key to be modified hold it down when pressing the other key hold it down until the other key is released On the double keys, the character obtained by striking the key alone is shown at the bottom, and the character obtained by striking it together with SHIFT is shown at the top. For example, to obtain the character ‘%’ strike SHIFT with the double key ‘5 - %’. The operational sequence is: press and hold down the SHIFT key strike the double key ‘5 - %’ release the SHIFT key Some keyboard uses triple keys. The third character is shown at the bottom right of the key and it is obtainable by pressing ALTGR key in the same way of the SHIFT key. Writing keys Writing keys are: all the letters of the alphabet numbers other characters normally used in programs The space bar (BLANK) is considered a writing key. Keys and control characters These are not associated with any character expressly printed on video but they cause particular actions on the Z32. For example: the DEL key deletes the character selected or all the characters introduced the arrows keys control the cursor position on the screen the ENTER key confirms the command the BACKSPACE key deletes the character before the cursor position. other commands can be generated with the double command SHIFT + … or CONTROL + can generate valid command for Z32. >
