Overview
Davis-Standard's NRM Extrusion® rubber extruders are designed to meet demanding elastomer application requirements. They feature advanced microprocessor-based process control systems, superior screw design, and custom transmissions to enhance productivity and profitability.

Cold Feed Extruders
Available sizes include 2 ½ inch (65mm), 3 ½ inch (90mm), 4 ½ inch (115mm), and 6 inch (150mm) with L/D ratios of 12:1, 17:1, and 20:1. Models are available in vented and non-vented versions.

Pin Barrel Extruders
Sizes range from 3 ½ inch (90mm) to 10 inch (250mm) with L/D ratios of 14:1, 16:1, and 18:1. An optional drawer feed section is available for easy cleaning.

Operating Pressure
The maximum operating pressure is 10,000 psi, with rupture disc overpressure protection at 8,500 psi. Standard gear ratios are nominally 25:1 with screw speed ranges from 3 to 72 RPM.

Feed Section
Features a power feed roll and patented spiral undercut designs.

Standard Drive
The drive for the 2 ½-inch extruder is located behind the transmission, while AC motors are mounted on the sub-base for larger models. The system achieves a 100:1 speed range with sensorless vector control.

Automatic Temperature Control
Includes four or five vertically stacked zones to minimize floor space.

Machine Design Parameters
Extruder sizes range from 2 ½ inch to 6 inch, with various L/D ratios and extrusion rates. Drive horsepower ranges from 25 to 250 HP.

Standard Voltage
Operates at 460 volts, 60 Hz.

Feedscrew
Constructed from alloy steel, heat-treated, and hollow bored for heating.

Extruder Base
Features an all-welded steel base with mounted transmission, cylinder support, and drive motor.

Cylinder Support
Fabricated steel section accommodates thermal expansion and maintains alignment.

Drive Transmission
Includes heavy-duty radial and thrust bearings with heat-treated helical gears.

Cylinder Base
Alloy steel cylinder liner with bimetallic lining, designed for efficient heat transfer.

Front End Arrangement Options
Includes Plain Flange, Swing Bolt Type, and Kwik-Clamp.

Other Features
Double reduction helical gears, heavyweight cylinder support, and quick-change hinged heads are optional. The barrel is internally baffled for optimal temperature control.
