| | | Crison started out in business in Barcelona towards the end of 1970. Our original aim was to manufacture quality pH measuring equipment in Spain at a more competitive price than the equipment being imported. The company began to grow in terms of workforce and facilities, and the numbers of manufactured equipment increased. The success of the company was and still is influenced by our selection of the best pH sensors for our pH-meters. In 1979, CRISON became a public limited company and underwent an intense phase of expansion with exports to over forty countries. In 1980, CRISON's products included pH-metersfor laboratories and processes, conductivity meters and thermometers. Titrator production then began. In 1985, CRISON moved into its spacious, modern facilities in Alella. The R&D Department was developed further. This Department incorporates microprocessor technology into the entire range of instruments. It is worthwhile pointing outthe interactive software developed by our engineers, which is still regarded by users of CRISON equipment as one of its most valuable features. In 1999, we expanded our facilities with a new building designed to cater exclusively for customers and distributors. The facilities of CRISON cover a total surface area of 1700 m 2 which houses all of our departments: R&D, production, warehouse, after-sales service, applications laboratory, marketing, sales department, calibration lab, etc., and ourtraining centre. Our sales department is split into three divisions: - laboratory, portable instruments and tabletop instruments - titration - industrial The company has a workforce of 45 people, over 25% of whom are university graduates. Subsidiaries The strong growth of the French and Italian markets has enabled us to set up two subsidiaries, CRISON Italy and CRISON France, with the aim of improving the quality of our service, as regards both pre-sales and after sales support. | | Technology CRISON's most notable achievements include the creation of a range of instruments manufactured using SMD (surface mounted device) technology, which has enabled us to substantially increase our production capacity and improve qualitywhile maintaining competitive prices. As regards electromagnetic compatibility, EMC, we have our own fully-equipped laboratory and highly qualified personnel who can carry out all EC-required tests from the very beginning of any projects. All our equipment exceeds the minimum requirements established as regards immunity and electromagnetic radiation emissions, and is also highly resistant to the temporary electricity overloads caused by lightning flashes. | | |
