Current methods, using clay or fixtures, are expensive and time consuming with only limited accuracy. With Optigo's complete, robust solution, full surface measurements are rendered accurately for analysis directly on the production floor. Streamlining the workflow, the digital assembly software receives the measurements of the selected parts prior to assembly, and fully reconstructs the surfaces of these parts. When physical assembly is complete, their relative position is measured again. The proprietary algorithms analyze and compare the `before and after' assembly measurements of both the visible and the invisible, including the inner parts that cannot be measured with contact equipment. The large data sets collected clearly indicate the quality of the fit at a practically unlimited number of cross sections, and pinpoint the root of the problem. In addition, the system features a `virtual assembly' mode, which compares measured parts to the CAD of surrounding areas and enables virtual assembly. Saving enormous time, effort and money the system replaces common expensive checking fixtures with cost-effective holding fixtures.
