Description An isolating transformer is a transformer where primary and secondary windings are electrically separated by a double orreinforced insulation, in order to minimize (in the secondary-side powered circuit) any risk due to simultaneous accidental contacts with the ground or with active parts or masses that can be energized in case of failure of the main insulation.
