The new safety controller SafeC 200M - 6148 An Ingenious Combination

(abl) The Swiss opto-sensoric specialists at CEDES have developed an all-in-one controller which enables the simultaneous connection and analysis of a measuring light curtain system and safety light curtain system in one compact device. Additional to these two coupled functions, the SafeC 200M also allows the connection and monitoring of up to 12 safety components, such as emergency stop buttons, muting sensors, muting lamps, key switches and many more. The SafeC 200M controller comes with 3 interfaces; the CEDES OptiLink interface for connection to a PC for diagnostics and configuring, the CEDES- Bus interface for the connection to further modules and a RS-485 interface for the fast transmission of height information data. Status information for all connected components are available as PNP outputs for direct connection to a PLC. Naturally safety relevant transistor outputs are also present which, for instance may be used to directly switch more powerful relays. The Object100 measuring light curtain and the Safe200 safety light curtain from CEDES have been developed to be used hand-in-hand with the SafeC 200M controller. Both light curtain systems are extremely slender, boasting a cross-section of just 15 x 20 mm which enables use on machines where space is limited.
