InterlaminaryPolyurethane Primer

DESCRIPTION CAUTION

CCW-554 is a single component primer used to promote the adhesion of new polyurethane coatings to existing, fully cured polyurethane coatings. CCW-554 Interlaminary Primer bonds with the existing polyurethane compound, providing a receptive surface for a new waterproofi ng system or top coat. When coating over existing epoxy coatings, use CCW- 557 Epoxy Primer. Keep away from heat and fl ame. Keep container closed. Use only with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing vapor. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wear goggles or face shield, rubber gloves and protective clothing. If vapor concentration exceeds TLV, wear NIOSH/MSHA-approved respirator. PACKAGING

CCW-554 Primer is supplied in 1-, 5- and 55-gallon containers. It is supplied in ready-to-use form. Thinning is not recommended. VOC content 450 g/l.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The adhesion of CCW-554 Primer to the existing coating is entirely dependent upon a clean surface.Remove all grease and dirt buildup, using detergent and degreaser as required. Water beading indicates oily contamination. These areas should be cleaned until beading no longer occurs.Thoroughly clean the entire deck by power scrubbing or low-pressure (1500 to 3000 psi) water blast.Allow deck to thoroughly dry.
ARLISLE will, at its option, replace the material or refund the purchase price.This limited warranty is the only warranty extended by Carlisle with respect to its materials. There are no other warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fi tness for a particular purpose. Carlisle specifi cally disclaims liability for any incidental, consequential, or other damages, including but not limited to, loss of profi ts or damages to a structure or its contents, arising under any theory of law whatsoever.The dollar value of Carlisles liability and buyers remedy under this limited warranty shall not exceed the purchase price of the Carlisle material in question.

APPLICATION

Apply CCW-554 Primer in a thin, even, uniform fi lm at a rate of 350 to 400 square feet per gallon. Apply by airless sprayer or short nap roller. Avoid puddles or ponding.Allow to dry 1 hour minimum, 6 hours maximum. Primer is suffi ciently dry when it will not transfer when pressed with your knuckle. If coating cannot be applied within this time, reprime.
