GENERAL PURPOSE CHAMBER FURNACES The combination of low thermal mass insulation and free radiating resistance wire elements ensures that maximum temperature is reached quickly. In the 36 and 65 litre versions, the elements are supported in carriers along the side-walls of the furnace, whilst in the larger 131 and 200 litre versions, they are supported on ceramic tubes mounted along both the side walls and the roof. BATCH HEAT TREATMENT FURNACES Elements are not located in the hearth where they may be damaged from spillage. A hard-wearing hearth is fitted as standard, making the furnace...

BATCH HEAT TREATMENT FURNACES AIR RECIRULCATING FURNACES The HRF range of horizontal chamber furnaces is available with a maximum operating temperature of 750oC and is particularly suitable for stress relieving, tempering, normalising, annealing and other low temperature heat treatment processes. They feature an easy clean, stainless steel inner chamber and a zinc coated outer case, finished with a hardwearing stoved epoxy polyester coating. The double skin construction ensures a cool, safe outer case temperature. Heating is provided by resistance wire elements on both sides of the...

c o m p l e t e t e m p e BATCH HEAT TREATMENT FURNACES LARGE CHAMBER FURNACES These large capacity furnaces are suited for applications where good temperature uniformity and close temperature control are required. They are constructed from rectangular hollow section panelled with zinc coated steel sheets. The double skin construction ensures a cool, safe outer case temperature. Models at 1200oC are heated by heavy gauge spirally wound elements located in the roof and under the hearth. Versions at 1400oC have silicon carbide elements located in the same positions. Low thermal mass...

• Silicon carbide hearths and roofs - the furnace work chamber hearth and roof can be lined with silicon carbide tiles to protect the elements from damage from aggressive compounds or corrosive fumes and to provide a hardwearing surface • Temperature controllers and programmers - to achieve consistently high quality results, furnace temperatures must be uniform and accurately controlled. Carbolite’s furnaces are available with a wide range of temperature controllers and programmers, carefully selected for maximum reliability and performance The Carbolite 201 controller is a three term PID...

TOP HAT FURNACES The principle of a top hat furnace is the combination of a fixed hearth and a moveable heating chamber. The heating chamber, which has elements on four sides, is raised to expose the hearth and the working volume of the chamber. Product can be loaded onto the hearth either manually or by a charging machine. The chamber is then lowered down over the product and forms an insulating seal with the refractory hearth. The controls are usually housed in a free standing control module with flexible cabling to the furnace. Benefits of this design: • Excellent temperature uniformity...
