LASTING

“We were surprised how compact the Gold Series was forhow much air we are pumping through it.After two years in service the GS60 is working great and still has the original set offilters in it.”—Dave Sweere,DMI Industries Gold Series on these applications and numerousTenkays.

Gold Series on Blasting Applications

Blasting is a very diverse market made up ofwheelblasters, air blasters, and cabinet blasters. The blasting media also varies widely from sand, steel, plastic, slag, and various shot. This document focuses on wheel blasting and large blast rooms.Farr APC has over 100
Wheel Blaster Room Air Blasting

Benefits ofthe Gold Series Collector

•High entry cross flow, inlet eliminates upward can velocities that can hold fine powder up in the filters reducing re-entrainment ofthe fine particles.•Vertically arranged filters shed all the metal particulate - vs.horizontal filters which allow the metal to build on top ofthe filter.•High efficiency filters stop 99.99% at 0.5

Safety Considerations

When blasting aluminum extra safety precautions must be taken. The collector must be outside with explosion vents, fire retardant cartridges, and sprinklers. No ferrous blasting or ferrous materials can be mixed with a dust collector filtering aluminum dust.Ifany other flammable materials are being blasted, then consult factory for extra safety precautions. When recirculating air, precautions should be taken tomeet all OSHA and government guidelines. In many cases a safety monitoring after filter is required.Extra caution should be taken when blasting with silicasand to protect workers from air born silica dust. µ ofthe dust!•Special treated filter media repels the fine particle for lower pressure drop and long filter life.•Gold Cone provides 25% more media for long service life.
