Camden Battery Balancer Part number CEQ12 Used to balance the voltage of pairs of batteries during charging to improve performance and extend battery life. Use of the CEQ12 prevents the normal mis-match of one battery being under charged and the other over-charged. This results in the build up of sulphate in the undercharged battery and drying of the electrolyte in the overcharged battery. Can be used with all types of 12 Volt battery, e.g. AGM, GEL, Flooded, Deep Cycle, Marine etc A suitable charging accessory for all batteries used in pairs e.g. mobility scooters, trucks, buses, floor cleaning machines and anywhere 12V batteries are connected in series. For more than two batteries (n), use n-1 CEQ12’s. e.g. charging four batteries in series requires three CEQ12. Operating Principle The CEQ12 measures the total charging voltage, calculates its middle value, and adjusts the voltage to each of the two batteries to be equal within 0.1V. This ensures even charging. The maximum current that will flow is about 1A. Balanced charging results in increased starting current, longer duration, and extended battery life.
