Optoscan Monochromator for Fluorescence Imaging
The OPTOSCAN M ON OCHROM ATOR from Cairn Research is the only instrument of its type to offer control of both centre wavelength and optical bandwidth with millisecond time resolution. Combined with our signal
processing modules and optical hardware it forms the heart
of a powerful standalone microphotometry system, but considerable effort has also been applied to making it the ideal illumination source for Fluorescence Imaging. At Cairn
we see ourselves predominately as hardware designers and system integrators so we have chosen not to develop our own imaging software and have instead sought to ensure
compatibility with the excellent range of applications available on the market. Optoscan control is currently
implemented in a wide range of commercial packages
including Andor IQ, UIC MetaFluor/ Morph, Simple PCI, RSI Neuroplex, Indec WorkBench, Image Pro, III and IP
Lab (under development). If your chosen application is not
included in this list then please let us know as our
comprehensive SDK means that support can usually be added within a few days. Because we are system integrators
as well as hardware manufacturers we are able to provide turnkey solutions based on some of the applications above,
and have sufficient knowledge of all of them to fully support
the integration of our hardware with any appropriate
software. To summarise, if your application requires fast,
flexible and automated illumination control then the Cairn
Optoscan may well be the instrument of choice.
Applications
Ratiorretric photometry
Fluorescence imaging
Optical scanning
Photolysis
Why use the Optoscan for Fluorescence Imaging?
Dynamic bandpass control, using galvanometers for
response times of <2msecs, makes the Optoscan ideal for multi-dye experiments and spectral scans.
We are approved system integrators ourselves and so can offer a high level of technical support.
Modular design means that the light source can be used independently if required and also aids maintenance and trouble-shooting.
Extensive range of complimentary hardware including rotary filter changers, emission image splitters, modular image intensifiers, flash photolysis lamps, patch clamps.
Range of control options to suit researcher's requirements and budget.
Highly optimised system produces intense output over a broad spectral range.
