Bright Light Inspection is typically an integral part of a wafer manufacturer’s quality process. Defects are better detected when the inspection environment can be manipulated through a variety of methods, such as controlled lighting conditions, wafer rotation and wafer tilting. A Bright Light System that creates a poor inspection environment will result in defect wafers not being detected. This typically results in defective wafers being shipped to customers who will detect them at their goods-in inspection. C&D’s smartView V2000 Two Cassette Bright Light System provides a cost effective solution that is small in footprint and big in flexibility and innovation. The V2000 Bright Light has a PC based Software User Interface which means that flexible upgrades and custom projects are completed without disruption to hardware components. Additionally, the V2000 Bright Light can be configured with a combination of 4 different light types that have been specifically selected to detect all types of wafer defects. The V2000 User Interface is recipe driven. Recipe creation is quick and easy for an engineer and execution for operators is carried out through a single click button. The V2000 has, as standard, an ergonomically positioned light housing that illuminates a 3 axis tilt-rotating gimble chuck. The chuck is ergonomically manipulated by the operator through either a software touch-screen control panel or a physical joystick. These ergonomic features allow the operator to inspect, manipulate and make decisions on wafers all while conducting the inspection process.
