A-3 ® General PLANETPOWER® planetary speed reducers adapt the speed of an electric motor to the driven machine. The selfaligning gear train floats to evenly distribute all internal loads. This design makes the PLANETPOWER reducer ideal for demanding high shock load applications. Compactness PLANETPOWER reducers take advantage of the latest technological developments in gear cutting, finishing and heat treatment. All ring gears are nitrided and the sun and satellite gears are carburized and ground to ensure optimum hardness and precise tooth profiles. The extensive use of the most modern materials coupled with the PLANETPOWER state of the art design make it the industry leader in achieving the highest torque in the smallest dimensions. Performance • A range of eight frames: 21-28 • Only six unique mounting dimensions • Output torque to 619,570 in. lbs. • Numerous ratio's from 10:1 to 5000:1 • High efficiency (over 97.5% per reduction) • High capacity roller bearings on most sizes Features Planetary Gear Concept Exceptional Flexibility • Input Shaft • NEMA C-Face input • Input shaft with scoop mount • Input shaft with top mount • Output Flange • Floor, wall or ceiling mount • Compact length and height profiles • Fan Kits for extra thermal capacity Durability Reducer input and output seals run on plunge ground shaft journals. For the most difficult environments, the "XTRA" output seal kit option with grease purge fitting can be ordered for the output shaft of new units or field modified on installed units. Normally closed breathers are utilized to prevent lubricant contamination in the harshest environments. The breather element opens momentarily to prevent internal pressures during operation but normally maintains a sealed position.
