Material data sheetCOPPER ALLOYS • RESISTANCE WELDING hot workingcold formingheat treatment machiningjoiningform of delivery The alloy can be easily hot-worked at approx 950°C. The forming ope-ration should be followed by rapid cooling. The alloy can be cold-worked in the solution heat-treated condition. Intermediate annealing is carried out at 800°C followed by rapid cooling. The alloy should be solution heat-treated prior to age-hardening. Solution heat-treatment: 15-60 minutes at 950-1020°C followed by rapid cooling in water Check hardness measurement: max 100 HB Check conductance measurement:approx 25 m/Ohm x mmBROCADUR® CCZ 2 Hardening: 2-5 hours at 460-500°C followed by air cooling. It is recommended that the alloy be machined in its hardened state (e.g. turning, grinding, milling). When drilling, it is advantageous to use drills with an extended angle of twist. The alloy can be soft-soldered on prepared surfaces. Brazing with low-melting point silver solders can be implemented. A drop in the hardness during the soldering operation can be expected. The conditions apply to welding as in the case of pure copper. Round, flat, square and hexagon bars, discs, rings, plates, special profiles, forged parts, finished parts to standard or production drawing, cast parts up to a maximum unit weight of 320 kg. 8 Information concerning quality and useability is for general purposes only.
