Text version of the page
High-insulated pallet containers arepreferable where exceptional insulation properties are needed. Examples are when no cooling equipment is available or in very high or low temperature condi- tions. The pallet container will keep the content at even temperatures or, when needed, at temperatures as low as approx. -18°C. high-insulated type is lighter than the heavy-duty type and preferable where pallet containersneed to be moved manually. The key to the insulating properties of the high-insulated type is its polyurethane (PUR) foam insu-lation between the walls. The average density of insulation is 43 g/l (kg/m3). Thermal conductivity (lambda, ) is approx. 0.023 W/mK.As A high-insulated pallet container is anespecially good option for storing fresh fish or other products on ice or liquid ice in order to main- tain its initial quality and thus maximize its value. We recommend using fresh water ice, because sea water ice can freeze the contents. The appropriate amount of ice depends on temperature conditions and the length of storage. The general rule is that approx. 30 to 40 % of the contents should be ice, depend- ing on external conditions. The high-insulated pallet containers are manufactured from two materials bound together theyshould not be used to keep fluids at temperatures above 35-40°C.
