Customer-specific input systems Keypads with integrated electronics

Here the input unit (the membrane keypad or the short-stroke keys) and the matching electronics are placedtogether on the same carrier —without any of those fault-prone and expensive plug-in connectors. Again, it's the customer who decideswhether the carrier consists of one PCB (FR4 etc.) of different thick- nesses or of a flexible membrane. One important advantage is that electronic modules can be SMD-inserted, soldered and plated- through without risk to the processas a whole.
