QUARTO ROLL STAND FOR PRE- AND FINISH-ROLLING

Typical features of this quarto roll stand are compactdesign and optimal output. Special heat treated steels, spring and cutlery steels can be rolled to close strip thick- ness tolerance and high ultimate strength. The strip thick- ness is rolled to close tolerance with servo-hydraulic adjust- ment and most modern strip thickness measuring equip- ment with appropriate control systems. Another feature is that the stand can be used for pre-rolling down as well as for finish-rolling after annealing in one system. The rolls are lubricated and oiled by rolling fluid. Exhaust and filter units for the rolling fluid are provided directly at the line and are integrated in the stand for the oil mist. Loading the front end of the strip in the stand is accomplished without operator intervention. The special design ensures easy of handling even for high-strength strip 12 mm thick. Rolls are changed by a roll changer.
