LUBRICATION ACTUATOROPERATION PORTPOSITIONING ThePneu-TurnRotaryActuatorispre-lubricatedatthefactory forextensive,maintenance-freeoperation.Thelifeoftherotary actuatorcanbelengthenedbyprovidingadditionallubrication withanairlinemistlubricatorordirectintroductionofoiltothe actuatorevery500hoursofoperation.Recommendedoilsfor BunaNsealsaremediumtoheavyinhibitedhydraulicandgeneralpurposeoil.IfHighTemperatureseals,useDowCorning#710.Othertypesofprelubeareavailableuponrequest. Therackandpiniongearandballbearingsareprelubricatedat thefactoryforextensive,maintenance-freeoperation.If additionallubricationshouldberequired,useahighgrade bearinggrease. RotaryactionofthePneu-TurnRotaryActuatorisachieved throughtheuseofarackandpinionassembly.Justaswithapneumaticorhydrauliccylinder,thespeedofrotationmaybe controlledthroughtheuseofflowcontrols.Theactionatthe endoftherotationcanbecontrolledbytheuseofadjustable cushions,whichareavailableasanoption.Careshouldbetakentoinsurethattheinertialforcedoesnotexceedthepublishedtorquecapacity.Anexternalstopmaybe necessarytoavoidexceedingthetorquecapacitydueto inertialloads.WhenmountingthePneu-Turnagainsttheshaftsideofthehousing,besuretoprovideclearanceforthepilotdiameterto avoidexcessivebearingpressure.Forstandardmodels,axialloadsmustonlybeappliedinthedirectionindicatedonthedimensionaldrawings.TheDual ShaftorRearShaftoptionscanbeusedtocorrectlyorient tensioninducedaxialloads.WiththeBallBearingoption,axial loadscanbeappliedineitherdirection.TheAngleAdjustmentOptionwillallow45°ofadjustability.Ifcushionsareorderedinconjunctionwiththeangleadjustment option,adjustabilitywillbe10°. PortsonthePneu-Turnmayberepositionedtoaccommodate anyairlineconfigurationbylooseningthethreebodyretainer screws.Oncedesiredportpositionsareobtained,tighten screwstospecifiedtorquevalues.
