Hangzhou Bole Computer Technology Designs Biomass Combined Heat and Power Plant - 1

CASE STUDY Project Summary Organization Hangzhou Bole Computer Technology Co., Ltd. Solution Power Generation Hangzhou Bole Computer Technology Designs Biomass Combined Heat and Power Plant OpenPlant Shortens Modeling, Design Time by 20 percent Location Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, China Project Objectives • To shorten modeling and design time with OpenPlant. • Apply document management, resource sharing, authority management, and collaboration with ProjectWise in the design phase. • Implement asset information management of the power plant with the Bentley eB platform in the operational phase. Products Used AECOsim Building Designer, eB®, Navigator, OpenPlant, ProjectWise®, ProSteel Fast Facts • This is the first small- and medium-sized intelligent digital power plant project in China. • Hangzhou sought to reduce emissions of atmospheric pollutants and waste. ROI • Implementing BIM methodologies and KKS coding with OpenPlant shortened modeling and design time by 20 percent. • Loss caused by the promised modification edition or the file transfer was reduced by 10 percent. • Using the eB management platform will increase the effectiveness and precision of power plant asset information management and reduce losses produced by labor turnover, saving an estimated CNY 1 million per year. Striving to Limit Waste and Create a Clean Power Plant Designing and Managing with Interoperable Software Qingyuan County, China is a hub of bamboo and wood processing, and the area generates a great deal of bamboo and wood processing residue. The region produced 132,650 tons of annual logging residue and 164,890 tons of bucking residue and annual processing residue during the area’s 12th five-year plan. The three areas contain 297,540 tons of waste material and the construction and operation of a biomass combined heat and power plant will reduce the waste that is produced from this area. The project consisted of designing and constructing the boiler, auxiliary unit, and a multitude of pipeline valves. OpenPlant, Bentley Systems’ 3D plant design and modeling software, conducts 3D interference analyses, designs a plant model, and manages plant design data, deliverables, and catalogs. Hangzhou Electrical Engineering Co. provides sustainable engineering solutions and is the front-runner in biogas and biomethane industry in China. Hangzhou Lanzheng Environmental Engineering Co. retained Hangzhou Bole Computer Technology Co., Ltd. to design a digitized power plant. The digitized power plant’s construction includes 50 t/h HTHP circulating fluidized bed biomass boilers in two sets, with one C9MW HTHP extracting and condensing steam turbine generator unit and associated facilities. Hangzhou Bole has KKS coding capabilities, an identification system for combined cycle power plants, that allows the company to identify the characteristics of the systems, equipment, components, and structures within the power plants during the design, construction, and operation stages. This coding capability helps form a basic data set that describes the power plant conditions, which will be used to implement asset management. The company was responsible for building information modeling (BIM) design, KKS coding, and the comprehensive document management throughout the project. The organization also was responsible for implementing asset management onto the eB platform after the plant became operable. The objective was to create a biomass power plant that reduces atmospheric pollutant emissions and generates heat and electricity to the newly constructed area within Pingdu, the largest city in Qingyuan County. The organization used OpenPlant to implement the BIM modeling and KKS coding, ProjectWise for document management, and eB for asset information management in the operational phase. Hangzhou Bole used Bentley applications to generate a multitude of engineering options, which helped the design team visualize the plant and determine what changes needed to be made prior to construction. This capability streamlined design processes as well as informed the owner about the project’s progress. The biomass combined heat and power project is the first small- and medium-sized power plant project in China that is implementing digital management. Digital management processes are applied for the entire power plant with ProjectWise; this means that document and authority management, resource sharing, and collaboration Hangzhou Bole used OpenPlant, Bentley Systems’ 3D plant design and modeling software, to conduct 3D interference analyses, design the plant model, and mana
