ArcGIS integration and geospatial model-building

WaterGEMS ArcGIS interface allows GIS professionals to leverage ESRI’s geodatabase architecture to guaran- tee a single dataset for modeling and GIS. They can create, edit, calculate, and visualize WaterGEMS models directly from ArcMap with full access to every hydraulic modeling tool.Engineers can leverage geospatial data, CAD drawings, databases, and spreadsheets to jumpstart the model building process. The included LoadBuilder and TRex modules help engineers allocate water demands and node elevations based on geospatial data helping them avoid potential manual input mistakes and streamline the model building process.WaterGEMS also provides drawing and connectivity review tools to guarantee a hydraulically coherent model. The included Skelebrator
® module automatically removes network complexity, while maintaining hydraulic equivalence, to efficiently tackle a wider range of modeling applications.

Water quality and fire flow analysis

Perform constituent, water age, tank mixing, and source trace analysis to develop comprehensive chlorination schedules, simulate emergency contamination events, and improve turbidity, taste, and odor by identifying water blending problems in the system. WaterGEMS users can simultaneously model multiple fire flow events across the system to establish the ability of their network to provide protection against fires.

Criticality analysis and operations modeling

The Criticality Analysis Center is a comprehensive utility to identify critical assets in water distribution infra- structure, and evaluate the risk associated with their failure. Also, by using rule-based operational controls, variable-speed pumping (VSP), and pressure-dependent demands (PDD), engineers can find operational bottlenecks, minimize energy consumption, and model real-time operations to improve system performance.

Comprehensive scenario management

WaterGEMS’ Scenario Management Center gives engineers full control to configure, run, evaluate, visualize, and compare an unlimited number of scenarios within a single file. Engineers can easily make decisions by comparing unlimited scenarios, analyzing rehabilitation alternatives for multiple planning horizons, evaluating pump operation strategies, or flushing alternatives for emergency contamination events.

Optimized calibration, design, and operations

At no additional cost, WaterGEMS includes genetic algorithm optimization modules for automated calibration, design, and rehabilitation. Darwin
