ÖWAMAT®ÖWAMAT®- A GAIN FOR YOU AND FOR OUR ENVIRONMENTHow does your pressurised air system work? Studies of trade associations and the compressor market show that the majority of all compressors used for pressurised air or gas are oil lubricated! Processing of condensate where it accumulates! Much simpler and, most importantly, more economical is processing of condensate right there where it accumulates. The oil- water separators The laws of physics always mean condensate! Condensate is inevitable in the production of pressurised air. This condensate is more or less polluted with oil, dirt and other harmful contamination. Oil contents of up to 10,000 mg/l arenot uncommon. ÖWAMAT® have establishedthemselves as the standard and offer "state-of-the-art" processing. Our environment can't tolerate condensate! Mineral oils contained in condensate are very difficult to degrade biologically and impair the oxygen intake and sludge digestion in water treatment plants. The effectiveness of the entire water processing system is reduced, resulting in endangering of the biological balance and hazards to humanhealth. The law is watching! The regulations are clear. The Water Resources Act stipulatesthe regulations for the use of water resources. The discharge of compressor condensates is prohibited without suitable processing, waste water containing typically more than 20 mg/l mineral oil into the sewage system. The legislation demands water processing corresponding at the very least tothe "generally accepted engineering standards". This means a reduction to max. 20 mg/l for hydrocarbon as a guide parameter for mineral oils. Regionally, these values may be significantly lower. Violations are connected with severepunishments for companies and their responsible personnel. "Disposal" is yesterdays technology! Disposal carried out by companies specialising in this field is safe but expensive. Disposal costs of condensate are considerable. In addition, costs for certified collectiontanks, monitoring devices, and installation work, etc. are incurred. Thereafter the "Duty of Care" act applies.
