Positioning: The housing should be mounted in a vertical posi-tion. Observe the direction of flow which is indi- cated by an arrow on the housing. As an alternative to the usual suspension within thepipe network, the housing can also be in a standing position. Radially welded-on receiving plates allow the optimal mounting of feet which can then be an- chored to the floor. The choice of 3 feet enables secure positioning of the device even if the floor is not level. If the pipe network is affected by vibration, it is recommended to install vibration dampers. For replacing the filter elements it is necessary toleave a handling space of 850 mm above the blank flange. Installation: Installation For better filter efficiency, it is recommended to in-stall the device at a preferably cool, but frost-pro- tected point along the pipe network. The separation rate and service life figures assumefiltration using prefilters of the next coarser grade (exception; coarse filter series C).Furthermore, it is recommended to install a shutoffvalve both on the inlet and the outlet side of the filters or filter combinations. A bypass line with an addi- tional shutoff valve should be installed so that the pipe network can still be supplied with compressed air during maintenance work. Before commissioning install the separately packedfilter elements (see “Filter element replacement”). CLEARPOINT filters undergo stringent quality controlprocedures in the manufacturing plant and are handed over to the forwarding agent in a perfect condition. Upon arrival of the goods, please check for any vi- sible damage and, where appropriate, insist on a corresponding note on the delivery receipt. Get in touch immediately with the forwarding agent and arrange for an assessment of the damage. The manu- facturer is not responsible for any damage caused during transport.
english Economic efficiency of filters Activated carbon filter, series A Pressure Vessel Ordinance Surface and depth filtersseries C, G, F and S In order to prolong the service life of the elements, the residual moisture of the inflowing gas should not exceed 80 %. The capacity of the elements will be exhausted after 6 months at the latest so that the element should then be replaced. The nominal diameters of the pipes should be asuniform as possible in order to avoid creating addi- tional flow resistance. Reduced pipe sections should only be installed where required for the partial-flow outlets (ring, connecting or supply lines). The housings are manufactured and tested in accord-ance with CE standards. Due to the conformity to the requirements of the EC Pressure Equipment Direc- tive, the housings can be “put into circulation” in the countries of the European Community without any trade restrictions whatsoever. They are designed for a maximum operating pres-sure of 10 bar and a max. temperature of –10 °C to +120 °C. When using accessories, the operator should also observe the operational limits of these items. In the course of time, particles accumulate in thefiltration medium and reduce the space available for flow. Consequently, the flow resistance will gradu- ally increase, which is indicated on the differential pressure gauge. It is recommended to replace the filter elements at adifferential pressure of 0.4 bar or at least once a year, whichever comes first. If the element replace- ment is delayed any longer, the economic efficiency will suffer since the higher differential pressure has to be compensated by the upstream compressor. This will push up the electricity consumption and lead to greater wear on the compressor.
