The WLI-5125 wireless mesh access
point is housed in a sturdy enterprisefriendly
IP 66 casing for use outdoors as
an access point / bridge or repeater. It’s
outdoor range is a minimum of 420m
unboosted. It can also be used indoors.
This model incorporates 802.11a/b and
802.11g on both AP and bridging ports.
802.11g, like 802.11b, operates in the
2.4 GHz range. And it is backwardcompatible
with 802.11b, so that, if you
already have an 802.11b network, you can
smoothly transition. The 802.11a system
operates in the 5 GHz band for reduced
interference.
What’s the advantage? The 802.11g and
802.11a interfaces have a maximum rated
speed of 54 Mbps. The Turbo A and
SuperG options provide up to 108 Mbps
data rate. The WLI-5125 employs WEP /
WPA2 on the AP access band and very
secure AES on the bridge.
The 802.11a/b/g AP card uses a 5dBi triband
detachable antenna. The bridging
port has a type SMA reverse polarity
connector for the bridge antenna.
The WLI-5125 will also detect rogue
access points, to further protect your
network from unauthorized access — an
invaluable capability.
Management is easy with GUI web
interface which allows you to add users
to and remove users from the system.
Finally, you have full use of Power-over-
Ethernet, saving the time and unsightliness
associated with powerline cabling.
