::: Application Flash Extractions have never been so easy... ! Extractions are important methods in sample preparation, where a solvent is usually heated for several hours under reflux conditions in order to wash the analyte out of a certain material. This process usually takes a lot of time under conventional conditions (Soxhlet extractions). In contrast, with modern microwave reactors, the extraction efficiency can be significantly enhanced, reducing the time for sample preparation from several hours down to several minutes. Good to know Be fast and efficient! It is well known that an increase of the reaction temperature will significantly reduce the speed of the extraction process. However, the reachable temperature in classical Soxhlet setups is limited by the boiling point of the used solvent. In contrast, microwave reactors support closed vessel heating, which allows for reaching temperatures far above the boiling point. This allows a tremendous increase of efficiency by reducing the extraction times from several hours down to a few minutes. Monowave 450 - The best choice It’s so easy! Monowave 450 provides an intuitive software, a large colored display, installation-free temperature and pressure sensors as well as an autosampler for unattended processing. • The key to success is to quickly reach temperatures far above the boiling point of the used solvent. • The required solvent volume for the extraction can be significantly reduced with microwave assistance. • Besides the efficiency enhancement, convenient handling makes modern microwave reactors even more attractive. • For larger volumes, Multiwave PRO can be used instead of Monowave 450, in order to follow ASTM and EPA methods. Reproducibility counts! The accurate sensors of Monowave 450 allow precise reaction control and utmost reproducibility. Make it short! The closed vessel concept allows for reaching enhanced temperatures and pressures which dramatically reduces the required extraction times. Reduce waste! Due to the closed vessel concept a significantly lower amount of solvent can be used. See the difference! The integrated camera provides knowledge about the stirring efficiency and about the consistency of the matrix in general during the whole extraction process.
