Adaptive Frequency Hopping option (MT8852A only) Option 15 adds the ability to test the Bluetooth specification 1.2 Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH) capabilities of an EUT. This op- tion provides the following measurement capability; real time display of frame error rate vs time and excluded channels vs time with AFH on, audio measurements with AFH on, display of EUT local assess- ment channel map. These measurements offer a standardised method to assess the performance of AFH capable devices in the presence of interfering signals such as 802.11bg WLAN and DECT. Standard MT8850A/MT8852A Bluetooth test sets with MT8850A op- tion 17 can be used for EDR transmitter measurements. The software option runs on a PC and captures IQ data files from the MT8850A through the GPIB interface.Supported test cases are: Hands-free and Headset profile software option This new software option runs the upper and application layers of the Bluetooth protocol stack on a PC connected to an MT8852A. With this option, an MT8852A can simulate an Audio Gateway or Headset running either the Headset or Hands-free profile. An Audio Gateway is Bluetooth terminology for a mobile phone or other hardware plat- form that links to a Bluetooth headset. This facilitates audio testing on fully integrated Bluetooth headsets and mobile phones. This software option, MT8852A-14, developed in conjunction with Cetecom of Spain, supersedes the MT8852A-12 option that sup- ported only the Headset profile.Key features:
