SEPARATOR TRIALU® A NEW SORTING SYSTEM The TRIALU® is the result of five years' experience and research in household packaging sorting centres. ANDRIN and LEAS have designed a system for selective detection and ejection of aluminium- based packagings to overcome the lack of selectivity of eddy-current separators. The LEASar®, which are specially developed, patented sensors, precisely distinguish all aluminium items, whatever their shape: - rigid (drinks cans, food cans, aerosols, punnets), - bricks, - foil. FIELD OF APPLICATION The TRIALU® is intended for automation of recovery of aluminiums in household packaging sorting centres and the recycling industries for this packaging. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION The TRIALU® consists of: - a flat-belt conveyor with special strips for stabilization of the products, - a battery of LEASar® detectors assembled in anti-vibration resin and mounted in a movable slide, - high-speed calculators implanted in each of the sensors, containing the details of the object to be extracted, its nature, its speed and the technical and mechanical details of ejection (distance, power, kinematics of fall), - an adjustable pneumatic ejection system based on ultra-high-speed solenoid valves mounted on a sealed manifold. The ejection nozzles, optimally designed for the precision, the frequency and the speed of the air jet, are in high-strength light metal. A casing protects them from impact and pollution. - an anti-rebound ejection chute with an adjustable separator flag, - a control cabinet including electrical controls, the ultrafiltration and the pneumatic adjustment. SPECIFICATIONS Performance varies depending on a number of parameters: - characteristics of the flow, - nature of the packaging to be ejected, - organization of the sorting plant, - position of the TRIALU®.. Seven types of TRIALU®are available depending on the width of the conveyor: 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600mm. METHOD OF INSTALLATION The TRIALU® is installed downstream of the sorting cabin for household packaging, preferably on a line dedicated to lightweight hollow bodies. A single-layer flow and stable products are two important criteria. They are ideally suited to sorting centres servicing at least 100000 inhabitants. We suggest 3 installation layouts : The LEASar® method can also be installed on semi-automatic sorting tables. A luminous marker indicates to the operator the packaging selected.
