The tubular heat exchanger series from Alfa Laval ViscoLine Doubletube with open sectional view Graphic representation of the flow pattern in the ViscoLine Doubletube unit. Applications The ViscoLine Doubletube unit is a tube-in-tube heat exchanger that is ideal for the heating, cooling and pasteurization of products with low and average viscosity, and products that contain fibers, large particles and particulates. These units are ideal for sauces, tomato products, soups, fruit pulps and other viscous products with particulates. Standard design The ViscoLine Doubletube heat exchanger consists of a single product tube mounted inside an outer shell. The product stream flows inside this tube and the service medium around it. The product inside the tube flows in counter-current in relation to the service medium. The product tube can be corrugated or it can be smooth. The service media shell is made of material that is corrugated or without corrugation (smooth). ViscoLine Doubletube modules are normally connected in series and grouped on a common frame. The installation is maintenance-free, thus eliminating the need for any spare parts. The ViscoLine series is sold and manufactured by Alfa Laval in the USA under license with HRS Process Technology Inc. Product Service medium ViscoLine™ Doubletube
