24 1 AERSERVICE FORNISCE PRODOTTI E SOLUZIONI TENENDO CONTO DI RIFERIMENTI NORMATIVI NAZIONALI E INTERNAZIONALI 2 APPLICATIONS The IBS articulated suction arm has long replaced conventional capture systems (hoods, suction wall surfaces, etc.) in the industrial sector, in the drive to reduce installation costs, restrict energy consumption and cut running costs while improving suction performance to the benefit of operators. The pantograph system utilised to position the intake nozzle in correspondence with the source of contamination in the proximity of fumes, gas, microscopic particulate that are harmful in relation to operator health, is recognised and approved by international institutions responsible for promoting and regulating health and safety in the workplace. The articulated arm, in its various AIR CLEANERs/designs, is especially suitable for connection to centralised extraction systems, for which Aerservice has designed a range of specific products and devices to improve operation and reduce energy consumption. OPERATOR SAFETY Pollutants deriving from industrial and small workshop processes must be captured as close as possible to the point of release and routed to the exterior of the workplace. In the case of intermittent work processes however, such pollutants can be aspirated and filtered out of the air, which is subsequently returned to the workplace. In this case, in addition to the use of portable air cleaner systems the installation of ambient ventilation systems may be required. Italian decree D.Lgs. 81/2008 - 2006/15/EC TECHNOLOGY EMPLOYED To guarantee and satisfy the applicable national and international standards and regulations, we make use of the best available technology, which, combined with superior technical know-how, results in the creation of safe products that are in compliance with the people responsible for using the equipment; for example, the speed of capture of the pollutant is never considered at less than 0.5 m/sec during the design stage (as required by the controlling authorities). ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECT The filtration performance levels guaranteed are established in accordance with international specifications that limit the concentration levels of airborne pollutants for professional activities for which a repeatedly exposed worker does not suffer any form of health impairment. American Conference of Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) – Italian decree D.M. 20/08/1999. National and international regulations are referred to the values specified by ACGIH.
