The basic unit, ATB-3000, is a powerful bench PXI avionics signal generator, complete with Aeroflex integrated PC controller and touch screen display. Additional PXI card slots provide for user customization. The inherent flexibility of PXI permits Avionics Test Bench to be offered in other ATE configurations, including as a part of larger ATE systems. The standard version of Avionics Test Bench, ATB-3000, consists of the Avionics Test Studio signal generator software and the Aeroflex 3021C RF signal generator and 3011 synthesizer cards, installed in a chassis with integral touch-screen. Additional card slots allow customers to add special purpose cards for customized test installations. An alternative implementation of Avionics Test Bench consists of an Aeroflex 3000 PXI chassis or customer-supplied PXI chassis containing the Aeroflex signal generator and synthesizer cards interfaced to a separate bench or laptop PC via an interface card such as the National Instruments MXI-4. This implementation may be most suitable for customers developing full ATE systems in which Avionics Test Bench and Avionics Test Studio products form one element. In addition to the ATB-3000 bench tester, Aeroflex will work with customers on customized ATE systems designed with Avionics Test Bench as the core architecture for large General Purpose ATE (GPATE), or low-profile ATE systems often used in labs and manufacturing areas. Avionics Test Studio Signal Analyzer (software and PXI digitizer card) will be offered as an option to either of the above implementations. Applications ATE installations: In the design of ATE systems, there is a strong and growing industry move away from VXI towards smaller and faster card bus architectures such as PXI and LXI. Avionics Test Studio offers these customers a way to implement avionics test systems in PXI. Bench Test Systems: Avionics Test Bench is ideal as a base platform for a comprehensive avionics test system, for R&D, manufacturing, troubleshooting and service.
