Analog Servo Drive S16A8 Description Power Range Peak Current 16 A (11.3 ARMS) Continuous Current 8 A (5.7 ARMS) Supply Voltage 20 - 80 VDC The S16A8 PWM servo drive is designed to drive three phase brushless motors with sine wave current at a high switching frequency. The drive requires two sinusoidal command signals with a 120-degree phase shift (external commutation). The phase angle must correspond to the position of the motor rotor, while the signal amplitude controls the motor torque. The S16A8 interfaces directly with digital controllers. The drive is fully protected against over-voltage, over-current, over-heating, and short-circuits, and requires only a single unregulated DC power supply (all logic and control voltages are generated internally).
