EXPLAN ATI ON OF FEATURES
Adhesion Properties
Adhesion level • The force required to remove the tape from a suface after it has been appiedAl filmic tapes from Advance Tapes are good peformes as far asadhcson is concerned The actual levels can be quantified by industry
standard tests.
Quick stick (Tack) • This is the initial bond that the tape has with the surface it is stuck too Note that a tape that has 1^ tack properties does not necessarily have IJi
adhesion properties.
Self amalgamating • The ability of a tape to form a homogeneous mass by the fusng of layers so that the indvdua layers camot be separated whan applied unndr tenson without the need for externa heat or pressure. Self bonding • Tpe that will adhere to itself without fusng so that the individual layers can be separated cleanly if required.
Physical Properties
Breaking load • The force needad to break the tape
under stress.
Breakdown voltage • The vdtaga at which breakdown of the tape occurs under the prescribed ccodtionsof the test. ddvidad by the dstane apart of the two Cectrodes between which the voltage is applied! Ease of unwind • The ease with which the tape unwinds from the roll. Easy unwind is especially usCU if the tape is to be used in repetitive tasks asthe riste of RS type injuries will
be diminished.

Flame retardant • The ability of a tape to withstand
exposure to flame.
Self-extinguishing • The ability of the tape to case burning one the source of flame has been removed Specifications* Specfic standards that indvdual tapes meet.
Service temp • The temperature range a which the tape wil continue to gve satisfactory results once appied Tearability • How easy the tape is to tea' by hand by a person of average strength without the need for any cutting tods Where tearability is indicated as dffiaut. tools mar be needed to cut the tape. Thickness • Measurement gvan in mllimetres. (Ecudes ! paper where applicable).
