eP Digital Controller

The eP Digital Controller is a closed loop servo controllerfor tension and compression testing machines. It is apresettable unit that simplifies materials and product test- ing and requires a minimum amount of training. The ePfeatures load and crosshead position inputs plus enhancedclosed-loop servo capabilities for accurate and repeatable testing. It eP provides one pre test and two test control seg-ments.The eP is an inexpensive and easier-to-use alternative toPC/Windows based materials testing systems. It can storesix test methods in memory so that the operator can per- form a variety of tests quickly and error free. Applications include testing adhesives, biomaterials,cables, connectors, film, food, plastics, metals, textiles,nonwovens, rubber, springs, wire plus multiple other prod-ucts.

All test methods have one pre-test control segment which canbe used as a pre-load function.Configure up to a 2 segment test profile. Each segment includesa user defined position rate and end channel which is eitherload, position, time or sample break.Use the cycle between segments function to perform cyclictests between load or displacement limits.Two methods are available for load calibration.Method 1: A self-identifying load cell or smart cell stores thecalibration information in it’s own memory. The eP senses when a new load cell is connected and automatically performs a software activated shunt calibration at time of connection. Allows for use of an unlimited number of load cells.Method 2: Up to two load calibrations can be stored in the eP’sinternal memory. Each calibration consists of up to 5 calibra- tion points with a piecewise linear fit between points for maximum accuracy. The operator accesses a menu selection to manually switch between the two calibration tables.Load calibrations exceed ASTM E4, BSENISO7500-1 : 2004,DIN 51221 and JIS B7721standards. ••••
