MILLPWR is a closed-loop system with positioning feedback provided by ACU-RITE precision glass scale linear encoders (2|jm/.0001" resolution). Because glass is an inherently durable material, ACU-RITE precision glass scales resist changes in size, shape or density due to temperature and humidity variations. Their stability ensures accuracy as fine as ±1.5jm (.00006"), earning them an industry-wide reputation for excellence in measurement and positioning technology.

In fact, ACU-RITE precision glass scale linear encoders include a fundamental measuring level 10 times finer than the nearest alternative encoder technology -ensuring the most accurate positioning possible.

Reduce programming time with import/ storage capabilities.

With MILLPWfi's DXF file input feature, you can import geometry directly from a CAD file into MILLPWR - resulting in faster programming and fewer errors. After the DXF file has been loaded, you have the option of saving it on MILLPWfi's internal memory, on a 3 1/2" floppy disk or on your PC (via an RS-232 port) for easy retrieval later on.

TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED

ACU-RITE precision glass scale linear encoders are built with optical-quality glass and a photoelectronic reading head that slides along the glass and illuminates a chrome line pattern etched into the scale. Photodetectors read the pattern and send an electronic signal to the control thousands of times during every inch of travel.

Quickly reestablish workpiece zero.

MILLPW/? also includes ACU-RITE's advanced scale feature, Position-Trac™, a unique advancement that enables you to easily, quickly and accurately reestablish workpiece zero after power loss.

Position-Trac™ uses a precise, distance-encrypted line pattern that's been placed onto each ACU-RITE precision glass scale linear encoder included with MILLPW/?. Proprietary software decodes the line pattern, which then allows you to accurately reestablish workpiece zero from any position.

As you create a program, MILLPW/? automatically shows you a graphic representation of each step. Seeing the program as it develops makes it easy to correct trouble spots before you machine.

With available motion for the Z-axis, you can program MILLPWR to mill at or to a specified depth automatically.

Full 3-D Contouring capabilities.

Choose from preset milling functions.

Standardized menus make it easy for you to program common features like lines, arcs, pockets, bolthole patterns, islands, spirals and ellipses. To add a feature to your program, simply press a function key and then follow the prompts. MILLPWR also includes an "engrave" option for engraving alphanumeric characters vertically, horizontally, diagonally or along an arc.

Perform complex calculations.

Use MILLPWfi's built-in calculator to solve geometry and trigonometry problems. Save time and avoid errors by transferring results directly to your part program.

MILLPWR is a complete, durable system that includes hardened ballscrews and powerful AC brushless servo motors. The sturdy operator console features a 10" flat-panel state-of-the-art color LCD display; a built-in floppy disk drive; a remote stop/go switch; and all the required installation and mounting hardware.

Every MILLPWR system includes components that have been designed, tested and manufactured to withstand the elements of contamination found in even the harsh­est machine shop environment. A conformal coating is applied to the reading head on each ACU-RITE precision glass scale linear encoder to prevent coolants and other materials from eroding contact points between elec­tronic components and the circuit board. Die-cast metal enclosures, sealed keypads, and recessed inter­locking lipseals further protect the systems from metal chips and other contaminents.
