The flange system consists of two flanges, a sealing ring and bolt fasteners to compress the seal between the two flanges. A pair of ASA/ANSI flanges must have one grooved flange to accept the sealing ring and one smooth face flange onto which the seal will be made. To ease system assembly rotatable flanges are available for bolt hole alignment. A&N offers a complete line of flanges, fittings, valves, traps and accessories with ASA/ANSI connections that can be used to create a complete vacuum system or pumping line. A&N's ASA/ANSI flanges and fittings are manufactured for compatibility with 1501b. ASA flanges and 150 ANSI flanges. The ASA/ANSI flange spécifica­tion was originally created for use with steam pipes. Now adapted for vacuum use the system utilizes a Viton® elas-tomer seal and is capable of achieving high vacuum pres­sure levels. All flanges offered by A&N Corporation are manufac-tured on state-of-the-art CNC (computer controlled) lathes to ensure consistency with dimensional tolerances, and extremely fine surface finishes. Water soluble, non-sulfur based coolants are used dur-ing the manufacturing process.
