Application
To make use of the advantages of the various detection
methods in different earthfault-situations, the freely
programmable earthfault-detection-relay EOR-D makes it
possible to select and combine the following earthfault
detection methods:
.. Transient-Method with qu-algorithm
• Up to fault resistance of some kOhm
• Restriking and intermittent earthfaults
.. Harmonics-Method
• Compare of amounts
• Direction of reactive power
.. Wattmetric-Method
• Direction of active power
• Increase of active current
.. Pulse-Method ( => location in depth )
The basic unit has been designed for the supervision of up
to 4 feeders; a 19"- rack can be equipped with up to 4 relays.
Therefore at present up to 16 feeders can be monitored using
one 19"-rack.
Additional digital inputs or outputs can be easily obtained by
using REGSys components.
In combination with the PC-software WinEOR the following
functions can be realized:
.. Parameterisation of the relay
• Detection method
• Trigger level
• Configuration of signalling
• Test of current transformer direction
.. Fault-analysis
• Logbook
• Record of transients ( 10 kHz )
• qu-algorithm
.. Net-analysis
• Data logger
• Evaluation of the line capacity per each feeder
Characteristics of the Methods
Transient-method using qu-algorithm
.. Suitable for earthfaults up to some kOhms
.. Suitable for restriking and intermittent earthfaults
.. The threshold voltage of the zero-sequence voltage VNE
can be adjusted
.. The equivalent threshold current of the zero-sequence
capacity can be adjusted
.. Suppression of the earthfault-indication depending on a
selectable minimum duration of the earthfault
.. Suppression of earthfault-indications in direction to busbar
.. Reset of the indication by an external signal or automatically
after a certain period or at the end of the earthfault
( can be selected or combined )
.. Recording of the transient event in the logbook
.. Recording of the transients over 10 periods with a
sampling rate of 10.24 kHz
