OVERBAND Recycling, quarrying and heavy industries continue to benefit from metal contamination extracted by use of permanent magnetic Overband units. Placed above flat or trough type conveyors manufacturers, large permanent magnetic packs generate deep penetrating magnetic flux fields that attract and remove tramp steel items from conveyed products. A rubber belt is driven around two rollers with the magnetic pack positioned in the centre. Ferrous items are attracted by the magnet to the belt's face and carried over and past the magnetic area until the contaminationis deposited into a collection bin or skip. These units can be supplied with either an electric or hydraulic drive unit for mobile machinery and are ideally suited for continuous use, where processing stops infrequently or for heavily contaminated products.
